Nemesysco’s field surveys and ongoing collaborative research efforts have shown that there is significant potential for application of our unique technology in the area of psychological diagnostics- particularly for the detection and management of anxiety and stress disorders. A number of psychologists in several countries have already used Nemesysco’s products to aid in diagnosis and therapeutic planning, and in some cases, as part of various treatment modalities.

Some possible psycho-medical applications of Nemesysco’s LVA technology::

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Systematic Desensitization methods used in Behavioral and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies have proven to be effective for reducing anxiety levels. These methods, in conjunction with the use of LVA technology and traditional relaxation techniques, can yield excellent treatment results. For example, the ability of LVA technology to detect stress at fine tuned levels makes it a powerful tool that can be used to construct the stress/ anxiety hierarchies used in Systematic Desensitization therapy.

LVA also shows promising potential for use in biofeedback therapy for anxiety and stress management.

Dynamic Treatment Modalities

Professionals trained in dynamic treatment modalities can use LVA technology to identify emotions or mental states that a client experiences but does not openly report. This information provides the practitioner with further insight into existing psychological issues that may be hampering the client’s day-to-day functioning.

Correctional Facilities

Nemesysco’s technology can be used as accurate diagnostic and assessment tools for psychologists and other mental health professionals working with sex offenders in corrections settings One of the main challenges for members of state parole commissions is to evaluate whether a sex offender has truly benefited from a treatment program. Nemesysco’s technology allows health professionals to accurately assess the success of such treatment programs. Such determinations are crucial when contemplating an early release of a sex offender.

Industrial Psychology

Industrial psychologists dealing with employee stress and absenteeism may use LVA as an effective diagnostic and detection tool. Nemesysco is currently undertaking feasibility research involving the construction of a voice analytics complement to the DSM Manual. This complement would include a description and analysis of the vocal correlates of various personality disorders.

Nemesysco is planning R&D work on a new pain-diagnostic product designed for professional therapists. The research aims to measure the effect of pain on the voice, and to use this information for diagnostics and analytics.
